I've just bought another Audi A3 8L 1.8T, this time in a Blue Quattro flavour. (Selling the Silver one! Wife wont allow two projects!).
I got it for a good price so couldn't resist.
She needs a lot of work it seems but a good learning chance for me.
I'll update this thread when I fix/change/mod things. It will be completely dummy proof as I'm a dummy right now!
First step is buying ramps and axle stands!
I'm happy for any advise you can give me after seeing the pics, I'm starting with the engine, then I'll tackle the body/interior.
Some parts no doubt need replacing just judging by the look of the car, I'm guessing Oil pump, gaskets, sump. (feel free to correct me!)
The work thats seemingly obvious is;
- Find source of oil leak, fix it
- Fix battery wiring
- Fix Coil wiring (upgrade straight off and use parts from Audi A3 (8L) Tuning, Parts and Servicing with Sub Part: Tuning & Misc | Awesome GTI)
- Replace Oil pump
- Entire exhaust replaced
- See how she rolls..
Anyway here she is (image semi heavy);
Exhaust looks a bit borked.
This is how its held on!
The Engine (AGU (although has an n249...)
Thats one way to hold a battery on
Not the best wiring I've ever seen!
