Wheels and Spacers

One thing I've noticed is the S3 looks better with wheels that have spacers fitted. This got me thinking about a couple of things.

Firstly, why are spacers soo expensive for what they are?

Secondly, is it possible to fit new wheels that also give the equivalent affect as spacers. i.e. Wheels which have a different offset (is that correct), thereby giving the same result?

The S3 alloys are a different offset to my old 16" A3 alloys... they are nearly flush with the bodywork, which makes the car look far more aggresive and meaningful.


I really dont know why they are so expensive as they ar only discs of metal with holes in them!

Get yourself a lathe and pillar drill and make your own!

Partially market demand, but mainly because they tend to be manufactured out of high grade aluminium (So I'm told), similar to that used in the Aerospace industry.
