Whats the best way to remove vacuum hoses under IM

Hi all, could anyone please explain the best way of removing the split vacuum hoses under the inlet mani without further damaging anything? I know this may seem pretty simple stuff but I know things can be very brittle around there and the last thing I want to do is break something else or does the IM need to come off.

I tried to do this. Ended up breaking the bend that comes out of the block when I pulled the pipe out that was attached to it.
Read of a few people on here who have done the same In the process, so might be worth changing it anyways. Only cost me a tenner off eBay for a new one.
 
Well you know what they say, one problem solved is another problem created,

I replaced the split vac hose between the IM and the FPR, (the others seem ok) but since changing this hose I now get much more power but the ESP light is now constantly on, could replacing the FPR hose cause this to show a fault on the ESP??
