I am curious as to why you have to disconnect the battery when doing this, is it live all the time? Clearly i don't want it going off in my face.

Thanks

Ian

Hi mate,

Airbags are scary business. Are you planning on replacing it yourself?

It doesn't take a lot of voltage/amperage to set the airbag off so even something stupid like static electricity could potentially set them off. It's for this reason that testing resistance of an airbag is never advised as the resistance meter puts a small voltage into the unit.

Disconnect the battery for 15mins as a safety precaution is advised.
