resetting the service reminder?

Hi, I got my car serviced at a local garage a while ago, but now the service reminder is flashing up saying 1000miles to service. Is this something I can turn off? Other question is will it be a problem when it passes the deadline?

there is a way of doing it using the milege reset or the clock one, ill have to look it up on here, and ill get back to you

If your on AVS servicing schedule then the only way of resetting it AND remaining on AVS schedule is through VAG-COM or official dealers VAS5051. You can use the manual technique thro using the insturment pod buttons, but this then takes you off AVS on to standard fixed servicing ie, every year or 10000 miles.
