Reasons NOT to fit polybushes to A3 rear axles.

Been doing some reading on the subject and spotted this thread on the vortex. It makes for some very intersting reading as to why people shouldn't fit polyurethane bushes to the rear of FWD A3's or Golfs.

It describes with animations how polyurethane is not a good substance to resist all of the intended bush movement on VW/Audi torsional rear beams.
Also explains why the rear mounts are cleverly set at an angle.

Makes for interesting reading.

I think I'l give the polly bushes a miss on the rear, but what about the fronts?

Was thinking of replacing the rears with standard ones, and the fronts with....?

As far as I can tell the fronts should be okay. The front bushes are only required to pivot in one axis. The forward of the two will be okay, but the back may not. Gonna try and find out more if I can.

I will personally be fitting standard items again if mine fail. I'd love a set of VW motorsport items as they are the same as OE but with stronger rubber (thats if they ever made any for the MK4 golf/A3).
