Why is it when i have my Revo'd S3 on standard mode! I come up against a Golf Turbo on a nice long road!!!
Still kept a good couple off car's in front off him!
Then when we get to next set off lights he's right next to me !! Trying to find that serial port when your in a hurry is not easy ! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Then it was By By Gti /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Golf driver was alright give me a tumbs up and a flash as i turned off

Anyone else been there??

Yep dave i know the feeling too, ur running standard low boost mode and all of a sudden u need that extra boost setting to blow some pedal happy psycho in to the dust, and u think DAMN !! why cant i just leave it in high boost all the time ?? !! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/fuck_you.gif

Why dont you leave it in high boos all the time then?

For narmal driving i dont think its good practice, more suited for track days i think. Im not too sure about this area, no doubt someone will be along to correct and clarify.

For normal driving, i would say high boost is pointles and just putting more astrain on the components... so it probably best to stick to low boost.

Okay maybe I am being a numpty, but isn't "high boost" the equivilent of a "chipped" car?

If so, why not run chipped all the time?

Stick it on high. worry about it later and have fun ;-)

Yeah, so stock just in case, low for valet etc., and high for chipped.

But why not run in high/chipped mode all the time?

Stock = Standard mode ie when car goes to Audi
Low mode = Relible 265Bhp Little risk
High setting = Can put strain on engine if ran all the time

Think that answer's your question but maybe not lol /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beerchug.gif

I'm running high boost 9, timing 7 permanently now. I'll let you all know when the turbo blows.

It delivers 282 lbs.ft torque, and circa 275 bhp.

I met a guy on holiday who works at Silverstone on the S3s there. Said they had a big problem with the turbos - many had to be be replaced.
