oe dump valve

ive got this issue with my oem dump valve it sounds like a knackerd stearing pump and makes a horibble humming noise some times when driving is it broken or on its way out, i dont have any boost issues car is a 1999 s3 apy thanks

if its the same noise i had, which was only on low boost at slow speeds then its annoying and chuck it out! I bought a second hand 007p DV, cleaned and oiled it was perfect (loads of threads for that). A brand new OE one is apparently just as good, so the choice is yours.

it sounds like power steering pump with no fluid in it at low boost

If it's shot then it's shot. There isn't a great deal you can do to service the OE DV. It's a diaphragm and once gone it's gone. How ever, for 19 quid, just buy another and replace.

Thats the only real way to prove it's the DV making the noise to be honest.
