Hi im planning on rebuilding my engine in the new year i have a 1999 Audi S3 APY, I want to replace the following parts......

Rods (rifle drilled)

Rod Bearings

PistonRings

Cambelt kit & Water pump

Head Gasket kit

Head looked at..

Head Bolts

Oil pump

Oil pickup

Obvious gaskets (that are needed)

BBT Hybrid k04

New Exhaust Mani (hopefully Badger one)

550cc Injectors

Relentless 3inch DP

WMI (of some sort)

Now my main question is I have a AYP bottom end which has had new bearings and piston rings fitted, It was started and run for around 2 miles.
Would the bearings and Piston rings out of the AYP engine fit my current APY engine as there basically brand new.
Or am i being stupid and should just buy new again????

Thanks

As it has a oil leak on the craft seal...
I was also hoping to leave my bottom end in the car....

Any one able to give me some advice on this?

I'd fit new ones mate. Pistons might be ok just check there's no damage. But bearings should always be new and never transferred IMO. The wear may be different and you never know, could lead to disaster!

So the rings and bearings from the AYP which have only had around 15-20 mins of running time (so i should tink not run in)are no good to use again????

I wouldn't say that they are not good, you can use them again, but new ones would always be better.
