Cylinder head

My brother bought my old a3 and needs a new cylinder head. He has gone to scrap yard and found an a6 1.8t. Will the head fit on his a3?

the head casting will fit but there are a few things that need swapping... depending on what engine codes are in play here you will at least need to use the cams from the A3 as the longitudal cam pulley is different so easier just to swap the cams over... depending again on engine codes involved there maybe issues with cam chain tensioners (VVT or no VVT), cam position sensor gear (single window of double window), secondary air injection (have it or not)... there can also be an issue with the cam belt tensioner pulley mount as early longitudal heads have a boss for an earlier type tensioner...

Need to know engine code/year of both the A3 and the A6 to be able to comment realistically
