Question S3 windscreen washer pump location?

    Hi guys,

    I have a problem with my S3.
My windscreen washer pump is not working, and when I try to use it its fuse just blows (and then the wipers don't work either).

I think it is a pump problem (I hope not the wiring, it looks okay) and I want to replace it.
The trouble is... which one is the pump I am looking for?

Here is a picture of my engine bay:

Number 1 is definitely a pump, but is it the windscreen or the headlights one?
There is also something connected to number 2, but I cannot see it clearly.

There is also a connector behind the bottle, but I think it is just the sensor.

Any advice? I couldn't find anything that cleared it up for me.

    Thank you!

unplug the pump power ,then try and use the washer if the fuse does not blow you have knocked it off if it blows..its somthing else.

pumps are a push fit into the bottle

    Thank you Mark!

So you mean it's nº3 what I'm looking for? I would give it a try this weekend.

So this weekend I fitted my new pump.

First of all we need to make some room to reach the pump location, and there it is.

We first unplug the connector and then unplug the pump from the bottle pulling it gently.

The windscreen washer liquid starts to come out the bottle.

Then we need to put the new pump back in and there it goes but...

    Wait, what is that??

Oh sh**, the cable is trapped under the engine mount.

So we unbolt it, raise the engine a bit and free the cable.

Yes, it looks bad. And it gets even worse because I can see the copper cables.

I wonder if that also "helped" my car to blow so many fuses.
So I taped the cables until I can get them properly fixed. At least the pump works fine now.

To put everything back again I just did the reverse process. Plug the pump to the bottle, plug the connector, and bolt back the stuff I removed before. Refill with liquid and go :D
