I have been reading and posting for a while on the forum, And I tought I should share my progress of my S3 ;)
I'm from Holland, so don't be hard on the english haha.

This is the car

Done a few mods, such as; Big custom FMIC piping welded by myself :D

Ic 5Ic 6Ic 12

Fitted a Spec solid flywheel, and a Sachs SRE Race clutch (550+nm)

Ic 9

Inline Walbro 255lph

Ic 13

A bilstein B16 PSS9 crossed my path, and fittet some brembo's

Brembo billsteinBillsteinPss9

The last owner emptyed te cats, and I made a rear silencer bypass, And fitted a powerflex dogbone

BypassSteunSteun 2

As a final touch I did a wideband Lambda and ECU swap.
In combination with some mapping it made a whopping 290HP and 480Nm! talk about rod lottery...
I was driving around for months with that map, but after I found out about the torqe I tuned it down a little to limit the torqe

Rollen

No TIP, no 3'' Downpipe no manifold, so I think it was impressive for such a stock engine.

Now the bad news. Last month it started to smoke when ideling, and under boost, I checked the turbo, and it had some axial play. So I think that is the end of it. Bought myself a cheap Golf 2 to drive around with. So I could fix the Audi.

Bought some ebay rods (200 pounds is not much and worth a shot imo) and had them balanced. They were spot on to the gram from factory. So I let them make some more oil holes like the IE ones got. Costed me around 300 pounds total, so I'm happy.
Also orderd a head gasket kit and some other stuff (T-belt etc), but still waiting til it gets here.
Rods

The plans are:

BBT k418T hybrid
630CC Bosch injectors
3'' Downpipe
Renetless V3 manifold
3'' or custom TIP

I also have a rebuild AUQ head, with some AGN cams in it.

Cams

I wil start in about 1-3 weeks with removing the head. First I need to get rid of my old Leon 1M chassis to make some space.

Hope you like it ;)

Hi mate, your car's looking very smart :) the pic of your exhaust looks interesting, do you have a valve in the silencer by-pass or is it just a bypass pipe?
Jon

Thanks.

No it is just a bypass.
Sounds great imo :p

So have you had the ebay rods rifled drilled then?

Nope, just 2 holes in the bottom.

rifle is a good option, but not necessary.
I know people who had engines without the rifle, and they still run perfect ;)

It has been a while since the last parts arrived.
But the last 2 weeks i have been working on the car again.

so here is a big update. I try to clean everything as good as possible, and replace what is necessary.

I jacked the S3 up, and started to remove the head. one bolt of the manifold was stuck, so we had to cut it and the manifold in pieces. But it is out now! Replaced thermostat, bit of cleaning, tested the rings with oil on the pistons, fitted modified PVC system, and temp sensor for the oil.

Seems okay, only cil 2 a bit more, but i can live with that. I will clean and check the rings when the pistons are out.

Did a bit of cleaning, and removing rubbish.

Yesterday I removed the pan, and the pistons. Prepared the conrods for fitting, cleaned the oil pump, and removed the carbon from the engine parts.

Took me some time to get to this result...
1888529 10200617919089712 2096140035 n

1797437 10200617921289767 1488357335 n 1900138 10200617921529773 1323182846 n

Oil pump:
1966811 10200617920929758 933826667 n 1969260 10200617920209740 548264870 n 1964793 10200617920569749 1308871750 n 1899955 10200617919569724 995561879 n

Sadly the carbon was very stuck on the oilpump so i couldn't clean it more.

Pistons out! Conrod time!

1781983 10200617918689702 1818724090 n

The bearings are in awesome condition!

1911607 10200617918249691 1864532055 n

And getting the rest done

1653749 10200617917929683 532403360 n

The reason I don't replace much, and prefer cleaning and repairing is that I sadly don't have a job at the moment.
But the stuff that needs replacement will be replaced off course.
