I'm pretty sure my '99 S3 has an AUZ engine code? But I thought they were only three not including AUZ

You're pretty wrong on lots of things here.
APY or AMK is your engine code.
AUZ is a 118bhp 2L diesel engine, found in Seat Ibizas, Cordobas, Fabias, Octavias, Passats etc.

Ok so where do I find out the engine code because I got the auz part off the plate under the bonnet just below the wipers

1x S3 and 3x Fiestas.
It's on the block itself, drivers side. There is a little tab that sticks out and it's stamped on that.
It's not on the block, it's on the head
