Hello
wanting to know how to set the engines cam timing as ive now fully stripped down the block for it`s re build but need to know how to set the cam timing up as i dont think its a case of crank at TDC and cam at TDC and away you go??
Dont wanna get the timing 180 out:(
Im having a guess here but would it be cyclinder 1 at TDC then with head off rotate the cam pulley till cyclinder 1 vlaves start the intake cycle and set to TDC around that cycle and your done?

Cheers

There are timing marks... cam pulley has a mark that corresponds with a mark on the cam cover or if the cover is off then the exhaust cam sprocket (gearbox end) has a slot that aligns with a little arrow on the cam cap... there is also cam to cam timing to consider if you have removed the cams at anypoint too... if just refitting head and doing cam belt then Cyl 1 at TDC and exhaust cam at the timing marks mentioned above and all will be good
