Mapping Issues

Hi guys,

I recently had my car mapped and have come across some challenges.

So the mapping to be fair did not quite go as well as planned, a few points were picked up including my fuel pump seems tried (its only 11 months old - (1J0919051H)), the MAF was knackered and the N75 is erratic. Before dropping the car I did a fault check and it seemed to be working fine and I am guessing when you start pushing the car faults can/will arise. So when I collected the car and drove home, I got a light on the dash so I checked for fault codes.

I got the below

16486 - Mass Air Flow Sensor (G70): Signal too Low P0102 - 35-00 - -
17963 - Shareware Version. To Decode all DTCs P1555 - 35-00 - Please Register/Activate
Readiness: 0010 0101

01314 - Engine Control Module 79-00 - Please Check Fault Codes
00290 - Shareware Version. To Decode all DTCs 04-10 - Please Register/Activate - Intermittent
00287 - Shareware Version. To Decode all DTCs 04-10 - Please Register/Activate - Intermittent
01324 - Control Module for All Wheel Drive (J492) 49-10 - No Communications - Intermittent

I got out the trusted laptop and cleared the codes down but these are still in the ECU.

16486 - Mass Air Flow Sensor (G70): Signal too Low P0102 - 35-00 - -
Readiness: 0110 0101

01314 - Engine Control Module 79-00 - Please Check Fault Codes

So I managed to get a genuine Bosch replacement MAF, but I am still getting the same error codes 16486 and 01314 even after clearing the codes again. Do you need to do anything when you replace the MAF like adaption?

I checked the MAF plug and it does not look the best so this will need replacing I guess.



While going through the fault finding, I decided to take a look at the N75 and both part numbers are completely different.

058906283F and the replacement is 06A906283E, which is the right one both look suitable from googling and does it matter?

To add to all this my management light has come on. So not a happy bunny. Feeling a bit feed up.

are u sure its the correct maf? for the car, i have been lookin for one and have come to the conclusion the best place to buy eurocar parts or audi to many china copies around.

01314 - Engine Control Module 79-00 - Please Check Fault Codes

If that one wasn't there before, i'd suggest talking to the mapper, it could be a software error

The MAF came from TPS. So its the right one I would hope. I will check the part code again.

I spoke with the mapper and he said that code will be resolved once its flashed again. I guess the problem know is that could this code 01314 be related to the other code 16486, also this management light keeps coming on and off.

Does anyone have a view on the N75 part number or fuel pump part number?

some of these codes could be legacy of fuse 31 being pulled to run 2wd on a dyno.........?? and not bothered to clear them afterwards?

I think it needs to reflashed to stock to eliminate problems stemming from that. The ECU fail code could potentially be causing all sorts of issues

Hey Byzan and Bill, I have spoken to the mapper and its being flashed back to standard tomorrow.

Just wanted to check some other bits out with you guys.

The new MAF is part number 06A 906 461 MX. Looks right to me? Mr Google seems to agree.
Current fuel pump part number 1J0 919 051H = Audi A3 1.8T = Wrong fuel pump, thanks TPS. Does anyone know the correct part code please?

Cheers Ben, for pinging me regarding the fuel pump, looks like my fuel filter needs to be changed. Has not been done since 2011.
