    audi s3 v6 conversion

    Hi all, decided a couple of weeks ago to do something different, after researching the net and having some help from some people on here and else where i started doin a v6 conversion, the 1.8 lump was doing close to 270 bhp with a few mods but i could do with a few more

    The v6 engine is a 2.8 24v from a mk4 golf 4motion but im going the extra mile to do a twin ko4 setup on it, has been done but not on an s3 so im quite looking forward to get it done. I will put up some pictures as im going and there will be question im hoping to get help here from u guys

    im interested in this as a customer of mine with a 4mo has asked me if i will turbo his

    what are your plans for management/ECU/loom and what sort of power are you hoping for?
    ​Wish Rachel would let me have my TDI mk5 back

    Ohhhh lol... yeah i followed advice and got engine gearbox full loom and ecu from the same car, its a straight swap but u have to use the drivers side engine mount off the v6.. so far everything is fitting nicely .. i take it as u want this in an s3??

    Hi guys, i was just talking to a friend that came over to check out the progress and came up an issue, the map sensor!! As im going turbo on the 24v lump i suppose im gonna need one but the ecu i have to use doesnt know whats one of them, is that something the mapping people can deal with, any ideas?

    no its for the mk4 4mo, he just wants to turbo the engine in the golf, ive looked and like you, there is no cheap way for the engine to know what boost its running, and that would make fueling it correctly harder, esp under full boost i would of thought

    after market ecu ? u can put whatever program u like in there . not cheap i wouldnt think

    Mike you need to put photos up, that build is awesome, glad I could play a part in getting it running :D it sounds great!

    Yeah man! 1st of all thank u for ur help i did have lots of pics to put up but my memory card is gone belly up.. i will take some of the rest and put them up... 3 mts of hard work paid up today

    Latinmike, speak to Sandip on here, he has done a 'S32' build a while ago, he has a thread on here, im sure he will be able to share some ideas etc with what he did on his.

    Yours looks good so far, but we need more pics!!

    Can I enquire why you didn't use a B5 S4/ RS4 engine ? Ifs already a bi turbo and its been done before by Kim Collins @ QST ... They would be a good place to ask questions on your project

    They're S3 was running a shortened full RS4 suspension and transmission with a shortened prop shaft obviously !!

    ....oh and about 470bhp+ !! (It was in Audi Driver Mag)

    Bunging an inline based engine into a transverse based car isn't that straight forward... VR engine more or less bolt straight in... the V6's would require bodywork mods along with a shed load of custom fabrication...

    Because the lumps are huge being wide angle. They're expensive to buy, tune, fix.
    And they're not that reliable.

    Vr6 engines have the same displacement in a smaller package and are just as capable if not more whilst being cheaper to do so.

    Been reading a few vr-t s4 builds on audizine and its inspiring.

    Ive seen that s3 ur on about (silver one with a 2.7 biturbo rs4 engine) but i want to keen on chopping things off to make that engine fit .. the vr's fit in there as if it was made for it, all i had to change was the drivers side engine mount, all the custom work done to it was just so i could side mount the twins

    18" BBS RSII with Michelin PS3s, 20mm H&R adapters, Relentless 3" DP and Sports cat, B5 V1 induction kit, cone filter+heat shield, Forge 007P, Awesome GTI SMF, AP coilovers, Facelift rear lights, Full Powerflex poly bush kit, R32 Rear ARB, SAI delete, N249 by-pass, Upgraded Engine mounts with Polytek, Stage 1 CC at Badger 5.

    Its not been mapped yet. Only got the immo matching done yesterday.
    I cant work out how to upload the photos i took, didnt take a vid as there was a PAS fluid leak so wasnt running for long. I still cant get over how OEM it looked with the setup used.

    This needs a full detailed update asap. Very cool indeed.
    B5 v1 Tip, Relentless v2 Manifold, Beach Buggy Hybrid, Pipewerx D.P and cat bypass, Miltek resonated cat back, AH Fabs v2 Intercooler, S2000 Filter, 83mm 9.5:1 CP Pistons, Brute Rods, Bosch 550cc Injectors, Oil Catch can, N249 delete, B5 Phenolic Gasket.
    H&R Springs, Koni FSD Shocks, s3dave's rear tie bars, LCR Brembo's, 18" ttrs alloys, replaced all suspension bushes, 15/20mm spacers front/rear.

    Now just waiting on my B5 exhaust manifold as the Relentless is goosed.

    Hey gary, ive had a few issues with piping and to take everything back off, but it did run and it sounded awesome, nearly done again where abouts in peterborough mate? Im just off st pauls rd (dogsthorpe/millfield)..

    audi s3 v6 conversion

    Just round the corner in gunthorpe, used to go school over that way! Was at mill field autos getting an emergency replacement coilpack and swapping it on the road at 7.45 last night lol!
