ABS/ESP and Braking system fault

Hello, This is my second post and not the best but here it goes.

I changed my alloys over from 17s - 18s about 2 months ago and have had no issues until 2 weeks ago when my ESP ABS and braking system fault signal come on when i turned the car over. This came on when i was parked up, then i pulled away to hear three dings, which would be part of the fault.
When driving down the road all these signals dissapeared (to my delight). I then parked up again, to then return turn over the engine for the warning lights t appear again. I drove for roughly 1 mile for them to disappear again. After a few days of this occurring, the warning lights have now stayed on permanently. I have tried all different threads to find out the causes to this issue. Could it have been my wheels??
Where the warning lights kept on coming on and going i could only imagine that it was a sensor, but when searching the forums there was nothing concrete about this other then the fuse box on top of the battery which is all intact.

I hooked up the motor to VCDS lite to hopefully shed some light, with the below results.

Any ideas would be appreciated, as im hoping this isn't a new ABS pump or Haldex.

I had something similar to this and it turned out to be a wire that had frayed through in the bundle running to the abs wiring plug, I suggest you get a multimeter and wiring diagrams and go from there. Do you have full version vcds? if you go into the engine module and measuring blocks, go to block 125 this will tell you if the ecu can communicate with the abs module.

it might well be but for the effort of checking continuity in the wiring, will save spending money on a part that's not needed I found this out to my cost twice lol

Hello thanks for the replys, i will check the abs wiring plug and get the multimeter out tomoz.

I do have VCDS lite full version and did as you said and ran measuring blocks 125 in the engine module.

Don't know whether it talked to it, but in the second box along i had ABS 1 show up??

if I remember right that means that the ecu can see the abs controller just cant talk to it if you know what I mean...I piggybacked a long length of wire from the diagnosis wire also called the k-line its the grey/white wire in the diagnostic port connector to the same grey/white wire in the abs connector block, the fact that your abs module doesn't even show up on your auto scan would lead me to think its this wire that might be the issue.

is it an s3 you have? if so what year and ill see if my diagram is correct.

You will have trouble tracing it as it goes up into the back of the speedo clock and then to the abs sensor, so I would try either by-passing the clock and taking a wire right from the diagnostic port to the abs plug, its a pain in the **** I had to splice into it so make sure your happy you have the correct wires lol

Yes my engine is an APY. Sounds really difficult. Was thinking if the colour is known i could trace the wire the opposite way?
