Hi folks, I'm in the process of maxing my ko4, I'm going to be putting an uprated bbt actuator (poss manifold) fmic, intake, 3" turbo back so-on. upgrading the fuel pump, then back in for custom mapping.
what I'd like to know is would astra vxr injectors physically fit ? and would they work fine ? (think there 470cc) I'm asking as I can get these reasonably cheap compared to the bosch 550's so,on.
Cheers.
car is a2002 bam s3, 023-'stage 2' mods

Welly tried these and they weren't what they are reported to be... ended up using 550's instead... buy the 550's mate... they are awesome... all the decent mappers use them and recommend them...

They were supposed to be 440cc apparently but maxed out at the same time as std injectors on the dyno...

cheers dude, yea I seen wellys post about him thinking of using them but never knew the outcome, looks like it maybe 550's then. just didn't want them being overkill. what are the bosch green giants like ? (Think there 440's, same issues ?)

They are 'ok' but not used them for ages and there are some cheap chinese copies about too which are just rubbish... the other issue with a n other set of injectors is the data supporting them is thin on the ground... not sure what the linearity is like on the greens but if its crap at low pulsewidths then idle will be ropey... I had this with my siemens deka 630's... was all over the place... the ME7 tries to fight it and loses... the Bosch 550's seem **** on... loads of data about them and idle perfectly... this is why I used them at 4 bar on my GT30 setup and why I have gone for the 750cc versions with the GT35...

ahh great stuff cheers, that's cleared a few things up. so 550's are fine on a standard k04 still running standard 3bar fpr ?

sorted, cheers guy's, best get saving for some five fiddys then ;-)

Always wondered if it was worth going bigger injectors as mine are maxed out! I really need rods

I'm fairly convinced that there may have been a slight mistake there. Corsa vxr injectors are 390cc so would of maxed the same time as stock injectors.
Astra vxr injectors are 470cc @3bar.

At only £115 for a set i'd be intrigued for someone to give them another go. Buy Online - Shop By Category - Tuning Components - Injectors - Injectors Z20LEH VXR - Set of 4 - Courtenay Sport Vauxhall Opel VXR OPC Westfield Leading UK Tuning & Motorsport Specialist Courtenay Sport Online

Ben you have just put the cat amoungs the pigeons ! that means someone has to try these now !!! ;-)
or can anyone shed any more light on 'astra vxr' injectors on a k04-bam ? as I read, they were stated as being 470 cc

Will have to have a dig through Welly's thread (or just ask him of course lol) and see what he actually bought... the ones he bought he believed to be bigger than they actually were but if he did buy Corsa ones then that makes sense...

wellys "vxr" ones, did not delivery any more fuel than the std ones..

no idea where he sourced them or part numbers.. perhaps mis-sold as "VXR" as ben says.. smaller Corsa ones?

Im more than willing to buy and fit some astra vxr injectors if somebody wants to have a look at my map/ fueling and see if its doable... be a big saving for most as a stop gap before big turbos or TFSI turbos are fitted

Well if standard are 386 and Corsa`s are 390 that`ll be why.

Doubt they were mis-sold but just didnt specify which VXR injectors he wanted?

Clearly bought the wrong ones anyway.

I think the Astra injectors could be a good move for someone providing they buy the right ones this time.

Yes superkarl that is exactly what I was thinking, I dont mind thinking outside the box 'but' if they've been done before and found not to work it's a no no .
tuffty thanks again.
And paul that's exactly what I have in mind 'as a stop gap.
Cheers for the help guy's, great info from a great forum again. :)

Those listed above should be fine... as its the Astra VXR engine the cars listed run

find some, fit them and unisettings them in... crude but would work for you for little ££

And if you fit them and it doesn't require any unisettings adjustment, that'll also answer the question on these. lol

oh buggar ! I think I did !?! Can't remember now ! Yea I'm sure it matched bens, just having a look then and the difference between vxr's and Bosch greens isn't that much (in terms of price) I'll do some more research but the Bosch greens are looking favourable ATM.

Did you find the vxr part number welly had? And cross reference that with bens finding/post?
If ben is right it will open up some doors for people.
