Recently bought a a3 1.8t agu it already had a perfect power piggy back chip on. I then did the downpipes and freeflow and added a turbo smart dumpvalve with k&n cone filter. I had it on dino and results were 98kw on wheels doing 244nm at 3200rpm. That cant be right! What can I do and what could the problem be???? Im not sure what the power should be but I dont think its running like it should.

i wouldnt trust anything that was a pet of freds

the k&n wont give it any extra power nor will the turbo smart

what chip has it got on ?

98kw is 131bhp or there abouts

no one car say if the cars fine from your post you could have got an air leak ect ect

seems to be down around 50bhp

Do you have a boost guage? Sounds like its on actuator pressure to me?

As above you need to scan it for codes first of all.

That piggy back thing needs to go in the bin and it needs a proper tune.

You said this power was at the wheels? you would be looking at 40/50hp additional for flywheel figures...

A decent tune on an AGU in decent condition nets 190 ish hp tops at the flywheel...

What boost? what fuel are you using? was it logged to see if there was timing pull?

No idea who this 'perfect power' lot are so couldn't comment on their mapping abilities... you need to take into account the state of the engine, turbo and pipework etc... no mention of this...

Before chasing more power you need to make sure the engine etc is in the best condition as power drops off dramatically if anything is not quite right...

On AGU's its even been known for throttle cable stretch to be a factor and not even be getting full throttle with the pedal planted...

Scan for faults, do some logging and check for split pipes etc... if the 'dino' you took it too is not a specialist in VAG (and sometimes even if they are!) they might not have even checked any of this and ran the car as is...

I dont have a boost gauge...ill fit one. Only did a power run on the dyno.
First thing check for faults and split pipes. Thanks for the response.

Did fit a boost gauge the weekend and a friend set something at the turbo. While driving the boost picks up to 0.9 and drops to about 0.5.
