A3 SE 2003- should this have an onboard computer?

Hi Guys,

Sorry for what may seem like a stupid question, but i'm suprised to find that this car doesnt appear to have an onboard style strip computer (or does it?) that displays outside temp, fuel consumption, etc? With it being an SE i would have thought it should have as i had a Golf SE that did.

Try pressing a button under the stalks? has it got a screen for one?

Hi,

There is no button under the stalks, there is a screen which looks as though it should displays various functions but it never has in the time I've owned the car, I just find it very strange that an A3 SE doesn't have a function which tells the outside temperature?!

Thanks Dave,

From what i understand my SE must not have an on-board computer. It doesnt have the selector on the stalk and has never displays the outside temp etc in the time i've owned it (about 1 year).
I just find it strange that an SE spec A3 doesnt have these functions, but i'm sure that i read somewhere on here that Audi made the on-board computer an optional extra?!
