Bleeping Noise

Not all the time and not even in a regular pattern but every now and again there is a bleeping noise of some description that comes from the boot area when the car starts up..

Alarm related maybe as I know the siren is at the back of the car?!

It's the warning that your alarm siren backup batteries are at end of life.

Strictly speaking though, ought the batteries aren't replaceable, so a new siren is the fix.

A lot of us on here have split the siren open though and replaced the batteries with some Maplin sourced equivalents, but it depends if the batteries have leaked onto the circuit board in the siren and ******** it!

Common fault. I too had to follow the TT forum how to post on my previous S3.

The Maplin fix costs a few quid and some time with a hacksaw/soldering iron.

A new siren was circa £140 if memory serves me right.
