S3 2001 ConRods??

Hi all, I spend ages reading through treads on here and most people seem to change con rods, is this necessary as thinking of having my standard s3 remapped.

They are a known weak point.
<300lbs torque and you are considered on the safe-ish side of things.
>300lbs and you are taking a big gamble.
boost spikes are bad.
Its very subjective, and a bit silly putting an exact figure on things. But for basic tuning like stage remaps you should be ok. So dont worry just yet, until the addiction sets in and you want to change turbos
