Steering issue on 1999 1.6 A3-please help

Hi Guys,

The last couple of days I have noticed my car is getting slightly heavier to steer also the power steering seems to be working overtime by making the whining noises, I am also getting a spinning/whizzing noise when I rev the engine. It only seems to be at low speed, or at maybe at higher speed I am just not hearing it!.Ran fault code reader nothing!.

Just wonder if anyone can give me any pointers as to where to start looking or checking?, dabble alittle with cars but not massively!

Check the fluid level in the PAS reservoir. If it is low you have a leak somewhere.

Checked the PAS fluid level? whining on lock to lock is associated with low fluid level and the fact its getting harder to steer suggests some kind of hydraulic related issue...
