armrest removal, please help

need to remove my centre arm rest and its stuck solid, have been searching online and found a pdf and they all say undo a m8 allen bolt i think it is, this is connected to a swing arm type section, once removed you pull the arm rest up and its removed however after removing this bolt i get nothing! the armrest wont move etc feels like something more needs removing, not sure if its ever been out before would guess not and so have been a little rough with it incase 13 years of grime is keeping it in place. i only need to remove the armrest not the bracket as i need to remove my centre console for a bit.

has anyone had this before? really ned to get it out for a while

once the bolt is in the way the little gate should just swing across and it pops out upwards mate.

Perhaps try prying the gate with a screw driver or similar?

the gate thing you refer to how far should it move? i have maybe 90 degrees of movement, should there be more?
