my power steering has been whirring a little on full lock for a while now, and then on the way to reading festival, couple week ago, it started to make a lot of noise and judder the steering wheel. The car was fully loaded at the time, 4 passengers, camping gear and lots of beer.On the way home a few days later the noise stopped and I was left with no power steering at all.
I checked the fluid level and all seemed fine.
I have since checked the fluid and it doesnt seem to have gone down but there has been something dripping down onto my garage floor from that area. From what I have read it seems it would be the pump. The car is really hard to turn now , was a mission to get it back in its space.
Will a power steering pump from other cars on the same platform work, golf etc?
Can you guys point me to a removal guide? couldnt find one when I searched this morning.
