Help - Engine management shut down!

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could help me with a little advice.
My S3 broke down last night after behaving a little odd!

Pulling off from a roundabout the engine felt like it was mis-firing, and a look at the rev counter confirmed it was struggling with power. Next the red oil warning light flashed then the engine management light came on. Pretty mush straight after that the car shut down and coasted to a halt.

The car is stuck in London, but I need to get back up north for xmas..... and advice appreciated so I can try and twist a gagrages arm to look at it asap!

Could be the dreaded coil pack issue... Quite common.

Has anyone diagnosed it for you?

I thought Audi recalled all affected cars?

It certainly sounds like that's what it is, my 1.8T Golf did exactly that, although I was able to limp to the dealer at about 5mph.

Don't want to alarm you, but mine did something similar and it was the cambelt. It had jumped/stripped by a few teeth :-(

Hope it's just a coil pack.
