Hi guys i'm new to the forums as i have just got myself a new toy, The audi a3 1.8T 150bhp version ..., When i picked the car up i never really noticed much as i only drove in 1 mile home, Today i went out and had a proper tinker...
I found that the induction kit that had been "bodged" on was infact like a foam sleeve or some sort... it was pants anyways and in terrible con so i removed it and put a cone induction kit on that i had lying around, Also the standard dump valve was broken (had a crack in the plastic) So i got my old bailys out the cubboard and fitted that and just blanked off the hole on the intake.
I then took it out for a spin, All seems to work ok, DV dumps ok etc BUT if i sit the car and give it a rev the revs drop as normal and level out were it should then abour 3 seconds later the revs suddenly drop out and the car picks it back up to normal again and then it will sit at idle fine.
The second problem is that the throttle response is a little odd, When driving i cant get it to sit behind a car at say 30mph as soon as i take my foot off any more to say slow down it feels jumpy and when i go to speed up by say 2 mph to keep with traffic its jumpy ... Not like a missfire jumpy almost like the revs arnt ready for the increase on throttle... its really hard to explain... And its not like a deadspot jumpy either. Btw the filter is directly on were the sensor is.
Sorry if im not very clear its finding a good way to explain it, But anyways i thought id come here as im sure someones had the same problems at some point !
Any help would be appreciated and any advice on better dv's and air filtration would be good
Thanks in advance peeps !!
