    Question Blowing sensors

    Hi guys,

I have a 1.6 A3 8L. Owned the car for 2 years with no problems, however over the past few weeks it seems to continually trigger several sensors - the garage tell me they are the O2 sensor and the fact the car is running too lean -(more recently i get a front brake warning light, just changed my brakes 3 weeks ago, which is weird). We have changed the sensors several times, and looked for air leaks. Sadly the problem still persists.

    Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Could it be related to a duff battery ?

Thanks in advance for your time.

    Marty.

Actual fault codes would help... just because the engine is running too lean doesn't mean its the sensor... how do you think the ECU knows its running lean?... thats right... the sensor is telling it that it is... too lean codes are normally the result of airleaks or the MAF being faulty...

We will need the actual fault codes are there are several it could be...

Fault codes are NOT definitive... you have to understand the conditions of how they are thrown... most of the time a fault code is the result of something else...

If you are using genuine Bosch lambdas then I can't see how you have got through them... they are pretty sturdy... if they can withstand 900 degree exhaust temps from a 300hp turbo engine then I am sure they will survive a normally aspirated 1.6... biggest killer of lambdas is moisture
