Hi all,
Im new to this and posted in the wrong bit so here goes.
Must firstly say I'm new to posting but I've always looked on the forum and found what I needed, U lot are brill.
Right now for the bad bit, my cam belts gone, I've pulled the head off and as per its done the exhaust valves, there is slight marking on the pistons, do you think I'll just get away with the head work?

please hellllphellllp

As long as it didn't bend any rods then you should be fine with just a new head, but while you're there you may as well put some forged rods in.

Is there anyway of checking for bent rods?

Is there anyway of checking for bent rods?

With the head off it should be obvious... rotate the crank to TDC and check to see if one piston sits lower than the other... rotate the crank 180 degrees to bring the other two pistons up and check them...

Typically when a rod goes it will either bend slightly so the piston is lower than the deck at the top of its stroke or exit through the side of the block... if the rod is badly bent then it will have taken out an oil squirter and possibly a chunk out of the bottom of the bore...
