electric window woes

my passenger window will not go back up once it is down, it gets so far then stops and winds itself all the way back down, only way i get it back up is force it up

ive been told its a dirty emergency sensor on window to stop small children and so forth trapping their heads in the window

any ideas on this one please

try here, sounds like the same problem i had with my tt, not sure if this is the actual problem solution that you after but if you search there is a bit there some where.

so looking at this its prob possible i can get this sorted as a warranty job
even though my car is a 1999 s reg??

I doubt that as you know what the dealers are like. i suppose you could try, i had i think as it was last year, 2 new relays and 2 motors put on mine ( both drivers side ) to solve it. My prob was that when pressing the button once for the window to go all the way up the window would go half way up then back down, so id try again and window would go nearly all the way up then stop and come half way down. Good luck anyway
