Broken window

Hi guys,

the drivers window will not move using the switch, if you press the switch you can hear the motor but it doesn't sound too healthy! You can move the window up and down by hand? Anyone know if its definately the motor?

it sounds like it could be the cabling that moves the window.

I don't know about audi's but vw had a habbit of snapping the clips and it left the window unusable.
if you can hear the motor that's a good sign.

It would be either the clips or the cable. My cable sheered inside the regulator and sounded horrible. The only way to see for sure is to remove the door card. Is yours an A3 or S3 as the window setup is slightly different.
