Perished hose on intake manifold / boost leak

I'm 99% I've got a boost leak - I can hear the turbo spinning quite loudly but it's not translating into much extra power!

I've rummaged around and the only perished hose I can find is the one on the top right of the intake manifold which I can't really figure out what it's doing - it runs off a few places out of sight! Any ideas what it does and if it would be having an impact?

I've scanned for faults and the only one that comes up is:
16795 - Secondary Air Injection System: Incorrect Flow Detected
    P0411 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

I've seen another thread (which I now can't find) which suggested this could be due to the N112, however I've not been able to check that yet - helpfully the screws holding the plastic trim onto the plate it's mounted under have been rounded off so I'll be drilling them out at the weekend!

    Any other suggestions?

get it smoke tested to confirm ALL the leaks... and replace the hoses

inlet manifold to PCV T-piece is likely culprit but probably not the only one

look for pipes under the intake manifold which are covered in oil. ask yourself how this oil got Outside of the pipe? There will be a leak close by

Will do - any recommendations for somewhere that can smoke test around Guildford - there's a serious lack of decent VAG specialists around here!

The hose in question is crimped into a metal pipe to go over the engine then converts back to rubber - presumably an expensive dealer part so is there any reason I can't replace with a single piece of silicone hose (teed as necessary - I forget the routing).
