    spigot bearing ?

    evening
my dual mass is making some awful noises so it's smf time :D
now the kit im looking at VOLKSWAGEN VW GOLF 150 1.8 TURBO AGU, ARZ, AUM SOLID FLYWHEEL & VALEO CLUTCH | eBay
comes with flywheel , cover and plate , release bearing and cover and flywheel bolts .
there is NO mention of a spigot bearing included or needed !
do AGU'S run / need a spigot bearing either before or after a smf conversion ?

Afaik the spigot/pilot bearing is not used in transverse engines., its used in longitudinal engines.

I did used one in my rebuild as it helps align the clutch when using the alignment tool that is supplied with my clutch kit.

My FSI crank (RIP ) had a pilot bearing but it came out of a longitudinal engine in from an A4

    You don't need it.

No transverse engine I have ever worked on has a spigot bearing so I would say no you don't (unless there is some random variant that does... I am no expert tbh...)

I have only ever seen a spigot bearing on A4's etc, never on cars like Ibiza's, Leons, A3/S3 and TT's...
