If looking at a 225 facelift car, where will I find the engine code that states BAM to confirm 225

Is this code the beginning of the engine serial number? if so how many digits and letters followin the code?

TIA

Paul

Can't remember which side of the engine the stamp is on, would have to check.

But the sticker in service schedule and the sticker next under the boot floor cover shows a kilowatt figure. Obviously, the engine stamp is the better check, as stickers can be removed and possibily forged etc.

I think the sticker figure is 165Kw, on a "225" car.

Someone correct me, my memory is going. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Whip the engine cover off... Its will be stamped on the head on a potruding bit behind the inlet manifold on the drivers side.

there is also a sticker in the boot where the spare tyre is lhs on mine

if it's an S3 and it's is clean you should be able to see the engine code without taking the cover off, I can see mine right on the from corner at the top (on the drivers side as rich says).

Or as other have said in the sticker in the boot or the sticker in the service book.

ok its a 210 model - but a facelift one.

asked the dealer some questions earlier and he is being really cagey.

not going to bother with this one, but its set the standard for the rest.
