what will i need to do to the car before taking it for a stage 1 remap car is an s3 1999 apy

nothing really, as long as its in good condition, but advised to do a good service, change oil plug etc, if you want better results you can fit a TIP, Cone filter.
but im not the best pearson to ask sure someone will pop along soon

when i spoke to amd i think it was just an uprated panel filter!? stage 2 was downpipe sports cats and cat back, stage 3 was a front mount aswell iirc...

Just a panel filter for a stage 1 map....
Would definatley recommend a good service before.

done full sevice last week and timing belt with new rollers and tentioners

also new rocker cover gasket also sump removal and cleaned oil pick up pipe with new oil also who shall i use to do stage 1 as i am in birmingham

R-tech would be you closest and best bet I guess. About 40 miles each way.

Biggest problems are leaks, vacuum and boost. Id get a smoke test if you can, or at least a visual test, and replace/renew boost, vac and pcv hoses.

I'd go with RTec Sham, where in Brum are you? Depending on how far you want to go? I recommend you fir a 3" TIP with a cone filter, and it will see you around 260bhp on V-Power fuel.
