My mates 1.8 tqs sounds supercharged but its knackered.......... Ideas guys?

Just got off the phone to my mate and his car sounds supercharged but its not and its running poorly.

its remapped and got new oem dv, scanned with his cheap scanner and came back with air leak he said but I'm not going over tonight CBA,

any ideas? A bit of a shot in the dark I know but if anyone has had this before maybe they will know recognise it
it its booked into a specialist Monday but he needs it all weekend to use . Not tappety but exactly like my Mini Cooper s lol

superchargerd noise is a ****** bearing of some sort ..alt/ waterpump..etc
other than that he didnt change the voltage of the flux capacitor did he...

lmao, he thinks its an awesome time machine lol I call it the p.o.s

i was thinking the same .........bearing, maybe turbo related though its got 115,000 on clock and quite regularly thrashed.

He just text my and said by the way it's leaking oil from the sump but no smoke from exhaust or similar.
