i'm coming up to the 120K service, and am wondering waht benefit going to audi approved shop will make, apart from cost.

Warranty is long gone, bought car 2nd hand, the major bits that would need doing like cam belt were done a couple of months ago.

Is there any point to going to audi, or can my local garage deal with it? ie service and switch the computer to the next service.

after shelling quite abit of my hard earned over past couple of months, a 400 quid bill for servicing is not really that welcome.

go for audi specialist unless you get a really good deal from the dealer....

Specialist everytime, half the labour costs and they use genuine OEM parts. Good ones know more about the cars than the stealers, who generally only get to see relatively new machines. Once the warranty's gone there is absolutely no point paying stealers rates (£80+ per hour) just for the Audi stamp. A specialist stamp is as good (if not better) come resale time. You will get the odd idiot who naively wants a FASH, but good buyers would prefer to know the car has been well looked after rather than the coursery service you get from a stealer with a meaningless rubber stamp, proving nothing apart from the fact that you've paid over the odds for maintenance.

Where about's are you based? These guys in Iver are good, near Slough:

Somebody recommended them to me from this site. Very impressed with their service and price.

Got too agree, once the warranty has gone on mine I'll be off to a specialist. My S3 has done 101k but is fortunately still under warranty for another year after that time to save some money
