Can someone confirm what this seat part is and where it should go.

Hello

Last weekend I carried out some repair work on my S3 drivers seat Recaro in which I have had to remove the seat in order to access the bolts underneath it. In doing so an underneath part of the seat pinged off and I don't know where this goes or how important it is.
I have reinstalled the seat minus the part and seems to be working fine but I feel it must have a purpose. I enclose an image of the said part.

From memory it is at the end of the seat frame runner and it has a spring loaded clip attached to it

That would explain the pinging sound. Is this fairly important to reattach or could be lived without as don't really fancy unbolting the seat again and the seat functions seems to be all good.

I think you need to look at the opposite seat to sort it
