Too good to be true??

Ive seen these before, I would love to get a proper remap but partner would frown upon spending the cash on it as our second child has just arrived.

TDI PD Tuning Chip Audi VW Seat Skoda 1.9 2.0 A2 A3 A4 A6 100 115 130 140 170bhp | eBay

This is said tuning chip.

My other question would be, is there a point where there is too many miles on an engine to remap/chip it? Ive 137k at the moment, this seller said this is low mileage and that there wouldnt be a problem. I dont trust him though, I trust you lot.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers again.

In that case dont get a remap then. I woudlnt trust one of those things, your better off spending th money for a remap. its not even that expensive really.

I cant really throw £300 at a remap unfortunately. Ill hide £30 a week for a while and see if i can get it done without the missus noticing. Looking for an easy way out usually ends up in tears so your right about getting remap instead. I would just hate for it to start causing engine problems with this many miles.

I would imagine fitting an unknown black box with unverifiable power gains is more of a risk than taking the car to a specialist that would check your car over before performing a remap in a controlled environment (dyno)...
