I would like to upgrade the disc's on our TDI 1.9 as the standard one's feel vague and I would like to replace them without going into silly money.

just get some new discs and some good quality brake pads.
i just upgraded my tdi to audi TT 180 2WD 312 mm fronts which are great but also required hubs & bearings as most A3 tdi's have FSIII front brakes
where the caliper carriers are cast into the hubs so you cannot do much.
but they worked fine for me with decent pads even at my power level.
The 312mm setup is great but heavy and pointless on a std tdi
They look nice but not more powerfull, just better heat capacity in my opinion
