Recently I posted up on a thread about my latch on our hatch failing to lock the hatch on out A3.
I bought another latch and fitted it and the hatch locked.
However you could lift the hatch about 10 mm !!!
Why when the other latch when on it never did that before it failed.
So I moved the hasp downwards to it's stops.
And I unscrewed the rubber bump stops out untill the hatch no longer moved.
But when driving down a bumpy road the hatch still bounces on the hasp though it is locked.
When stationary the hatch has no play.
I feel I should not of needed to unscrew the rubber bump stops or move the hasp and by doing this I may have made a gap between the hatch and the chassis rubber seal that will leak when it rains.
I am wondering if the latch was the correct on for our car, the parts supplier took our reg and went from that so I assume it must be.
