Alright chaps, just to start off with, my S3 had Full Audi service history, up until yesterday, where I took it into AmD for a full inspection service. Prior to the service, I had noticed a slight drop in performance, the power seemed a bit laggy, not pulling as smoothly as I'd like. But after yesterdays service, it's back!, car feels very sharp and responsive, and much free revving /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Now i've never noticed the performance to improve after a service from all the times that I've taken it to an Audi stealer, which makes me think if theyve actually serviced the ****** thing in the first place?!?, I was doing approx. 6k miles a year. Maybe it's just me, but just a little feedback to anyone who doubts independant specialists over main dealer for the sake of a stamp!
I'm a happy chap now anyways. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

did they clean the MAF for you or anything like that?

Not sure, but I did have it replaces approx. 20 months ago, maybe it's the new air filter?

jojo has your motor ever had a throttle body reset ?

forcing this with vagcom sometimes gives similar results.

I think so, I'll have a check at the jobsheet later on.

I'm not sure, I've done the reset throttle routine, so the ECU knows the minimum and maximum throttle positions, a few time myself though. But it's definitely not throttle related, the car just seems smoother and happier, with the turbo spooling up quicker than before and wouldn't have thought that 12 monthsand 6k miles of mixed driving would kill the oil?

wouldnt have thought an oil change would make a noticable difference. ive never noticed any difference with any oil change other than on my pocket.

new spark plug/ air filter changed may have done it.

Actually, looking at the invoice, don't think I had the sparkplugs or airfilter changed, they were last changed at 39k miles in 2003, and ODO is just shy of 50k miles, only did 10k in the last 2 years lol. Think I might just invest in a new airfilter element just in case.

Could the air filter have been full of muck? This would have restricted the air flow and the engine would have knocked itself back. Now it has a nice new clean one then it will breath better etc?

or are AMD doing free chips during a service!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
