hi guys

my drivers side ballast went friday :( (pre facelift)

so i know i dont have to take the bumpers off, but im struggling to find a used one as new is just to much for me unfortunatly

my friend offered me a after market ballast for it to replace the duff one ......

my question is has this been done before? and does it cause issues with the dash display? (bulb out etc)
and would it be plug and play to original car loom?

cheers all
rob

You can buy ballasts that are fault free and canbus compatible.

Ive just bought one for the mrs car. As long as you have the right voltage and watt, plus the right bulb type its worth a try. Theres a seller on ebay that offers 1 year warranty too

Thanks for the reply mate

what watt are the standard xenons? 35w?

how hard would it be to wire the live and earth to it? He reckons it won't bring up the bulb out light but I'm slightly nervous about cutting into the headlight loom :(

Yeh 12v 35w d1s bulb.

So the ballast your mate has doesnt come with any wires?

Id buy one that would plug straight in tbh. £30 quid is what i paid last week.
