2000 Audi A3 1.6 with EML And Traction Light On - Fault Reader Reads Cam Sensor

Hi, recently purchased a 2000 A3 1.6, drove about 10 miles after picking up and EML and Traction Light come on, bought it privately and called the guy who sold me it and he did not want to know, got to my garage on monday, it comes up with 1 fault code which is the cam sensor, my mechanic advised using a genuine Audi one, So we went for it, also advised replacing cambelt at the same time, which I also went for..

He did all the work and the lights are still on, when he plugs in to them it brings up the same fault.. as soon as he clears them they just reaccur..

Any one have any other knowledge on this?
