Head swap??

Hi all,
This is my first post so excuse my noobness!

I have a A3 1.8 2001 (121000 miles) and the cambelt has snapped damaging two exhaust valves, whilst stripping the head out i have noticed pitting and flat spots on the cams, so got looking for parts and costing it all up became expensive very quickly!

My question (i hope not a stupid one!) is ive found a AGN head all complete but mine is a APG head, will it go in or are there differences between the two?

I believe they are the same yes, along with ADR, ARG, APT, AVV, ALT.

ive got the AGN head all is ok the casting is identical just its missing the drilled port from the exhaust outlet to the EGR valve mounting face, all mounting holes are present, just looking to see about getting the hole drilled to make the EGR useable again.

Very expensive to drill the hole

You can do a EGR Delete and remove the rest of the EGR. Lots of people do it without any problems

Ahh right ok, that sounds like a better and easier option, i take it that can be done via vagcom?
