    Pc9 404

    Hi guys,

so I recently bought a pc9 401 to find an annoying buzzing sound and to find out I needed a 404, now I've got a 404 I can't get any sound from the rear speakers, If I fade it to the rear and turn it up very loud I can hear the sub but no speakers, and after looking at a lot of threads about this and finding the common have you plugged the blue and white cable into the amp remote - yes I have!

    Thanks in advance.

I had the same issue using the above set up. On the Red connector (this powers your sub and amp) you must connect the blue "amp wire" to your h/u's amp / remote wire. i did this with bullet connectors and made sure it was a tight clamp, if it was slightly loose it just wouldn't work.

Are you using a standard or aftermarket h/u?

Everything looks fine from a wiring point of view.
I would check first that the adapter is getting 12v on that remote on connection, or temporarily connect it to the perm live on the ISO power connector. If all is OK there then check the HU is using those rear pre-outs for full range signal. What HU is it? Looks like it only has a single pair of RCA's, these can sometimes be switched to be either full range or subwoofer. If they are set as subwoofer in the HU menu then it will only be sending low frequencies to the rear amp.

When I fitted mine, I missed the most simple of things, all plugged in and powered, but hadn't gone through the menu on the stereo and turned the sub on. Don't forget, the rear speaker are classed as a sub on the stereo, so fading the speakers to the rear, will play no affect. Adjust the sub volume and jobs a goodun
