Hi all ,

Carried out a service on my s3 8l today and whilst it was up on the ramp gave it a good look over.

Found the following things need replacing:

-Rear discs and pads,
-Top suspension mounts
-Both front lower wishbones

I and also noticed a hole in the crappy soft standard intake pipe, which could explain some funny noises while running.

If anyone can advise the best place to get these parts i would apprecatie it.

Along with any tips on replacing these items. e.g tools i may need, bests ways to do things etc.

Many thanks in advance.

To add the main items im sturggling to find cheaper are the wishbones seems its twice as much for the s3 than it is the a3 and i cant work out why. Any suggestions would be great :) .

Yeah I took my car to get new tyres, and they said my wishbones were worn  quoted me £180 EACH!
Took it to a good mechanic friend and got the bushes replaced along with top mounts, ARB bushes, wheel bearings, and full service for £300.
Rip off merchant garages..

Have you tried eurocarparts.com?

S3 bottom arms are twice the price of a3's because they are cast not pressed steel..replace the bushes as said, the rear ones that lay flat on the front arms are the ones that take most punishment...
