Noisy heater blower!!

My heater blower on my A3 01 plate has started making a noisy rattle...the faster the blower the louder the noise

It sounds horrible, any idea what it could be? And is it expensive to fix??

Probably just that, the blower moter! Mines sqeeking, hoping somebody will post a simple 'how to' and maybe a list of compatible fans in other vags?! mine has aircon btw.

I had the same problem with my heater. It turned out to be a foam plate that had fallen in there and was catching on the fan.


I managed to reach it from under the bonnet and pull it out.

Funny you should say that, ive noticed some foam in the footwell passenger side underneath the glove box....could that be it?

I'll check tomorrow, when you say from under the bonnet? how do you mean? There doesnt look much room to go digging under the bonnet, let alone near to the glovebox area

I had a look but I cant get to the fan at all nor can I see anythiing that looks to have fallen through

I took a recording, if it helps identify it abit more?
