Blow off turkey sound

I know this is a fairly common question, but its hard to get a straight answer.

This Golf:

What is making it sound like that? A bigger turbo, or an open blowoff valve? I hate open blowoff valves, as they are usually the HKS style one, and it sounds like a loud bird call, but that sounds pretty good.

I use a bov from GFB that recirculates myself, and that one has the classic stock woosh sound, just alot louder at 1.2 bar peak

Does it sound like that, because its a bigger turbo?

Sounds like the DV is too small, too strong a spring or just broken and he is getting compressor stall...

I quite like the sound myself, but that said, stall isn't good for the smaller turbos or so I've heard... The centre shaft snaps?

Bigger (GT's) seem to get away with it...

Its bad for the turbo and obviously if the shaft snaps and compressor destroys itself it could find its way into the engine and be bad for that too... either way I would avoid it...
