Following on from the rusty doors. Another Audi design fault?

As subject I came to remove the wheel arch liners to carry out some work on my car (See other thread) and found this:

As you can see the insides of the wings were full up with mud and old leaves (Both sides not just drivers)

So after closer inspection I found that there were no proper drain holes for the water that runs from the doors. Thus resulting in what you see.

If left this could of ended up rotting the wings from the inside out.

So I have now drilled and added my own drain holes (They have got rubber grommets in them, and have been treated) Sorry no pics.

Anyone else seen this before?
 
Yep. they all do it. it comes in through the hole in the scuttle panel where the bonnet hinges are. not a lot you can do about it.

I've made drain holes. So we will see what happens.
